Australian packaging automation supplier HMPS Propac has acquired Enmin, strengthening its packaging line capabilities by adding product handling, vibratory feeding and weighing systems to its portfolio.

The deal expands the Australian machinery supplier's capabilities, enabling it to deliver complete, locally engineered packaging line solutions from product handling through to palletising and dispatch.

Melbourne-based Enmin specialises in product handling, vibratory equipment and multihead weighing solutions for the food industry.

Completed on 1 July, the acquisition brings together two Australian businesses with complementary expertise. HMPS Propac has long specialised in end-of-line automation, including vertical form fill seal (VFFS) bagging, case packing, robotic palletising and dispatch systems, while Melbourne-based Enmin specialises in product handling, vibratory equipment and multihead weighing solutions for the food industry.

The combined business will enable the HMPS Group to offer complete packaging line solutions, from in-feed through to palletising and wrapping, with engineering, manufacturing and support delivered locally.

Mark Emmett, managing director of HMPS Propac, said the acquisition strengthens the group's ability to deliver integrated solutions while bringing together two businesses with strong industry reputations.

“This is a significant step for the HMPS Group. It means we can take responsibility for far more of a customer's production line under one roof, with the same Australian engineering and support behind every stage.

“What impressed me just as much as Enmin's technology, though, is its reputation. Over more than two decades Anthony and his team have made a real mark on this industry and earned the trust of some of the country's leading food manufacturers. We're proud to welcome them into the group.”

Anthony Gallaher, managing director of Enmin, said joining the HMPS Group positions the business for its next phase of growth while ensuring its Australian manufacturing heritage remains strong.

“After 20 years at the helm of Enmin, I couldn't be happier about this incredible opportunity to join the HMPS Group. Operating as a dedicated design-and-manufacturing business in Australia has never been an easy road to navigate, and I'm confident that, through this new partnership, our future as a recognised brand in the food industry will remain strong for many years to come. Enmin's true journey is only just beginning.”

The companies said existing customers of both businesses will continue to receive the same equipment, servicing, spare parts and technical support, with no immediate changes to operations. Over time, the combined organisation is expected to provide customers with access to a larger national sales and service network.
