Element Logic has entered a strategic global partnership with Ranpak to integrate packaging automation, including box forming, right sizing and paper-based protection, into its warehouse solutions.
The agreement builds on existing collaboration between the companies. It will allow Element Logic to include Ranpak’s box forming, closing, right sizing, computer vision and paper-based product protection technologies in broader warehouse projects, connecting picking and packing with the final stages of shipment.
Ranpak’s equipment can automatically select, erect and size a box around an order. Element Logic says combining this capability with its warehouse software and system design could reduce packaging material and shipped volume while improving throughput and consistency.
“At Element Logic, we continuously expand our solution portfolio to help customers optimise warehouse performance from inbound processes to final shipment,” said CEO Ankush Malhotra. “Partnering with Ranpak strengthens our packaging offering and enables us to deliver even greater value through integrated, scalable and sustainable solutions.”
The companies also see the combined offering as a way to help warehouse operators respond to packaging requirements being phased in under the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation.
Both companies have an Australian presence. Element Logic operates from Dandenong South in Melbourne, while Ranpak has a local corporate entity, Ranpak Australia Pty Ltd. Ranpak products are also supplied through distributors including Sydney-based Power Packaging and Signet, which has its head office in Brisbane. Separately, Abbe has a distribution partnership with Ranpak Automation that adds equipment to its corrugated packaging offering.
The announcement does not identify an Australian project for the new Element Logic–Ranpak offering or specify a local rollout timetable.
