Packaging supplier Detpak has opened a 175,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to produce paper-based packaging for Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) customers in the United States.
The multi-million-dollar facility is initially employing more than 50 people from the local community. Equipment commissioning is currently underway, with full production commencing in August.
The facility will allow Detpak to manufacture packaging locally for US customers, which the company said will improve supply chain reliability, reduce lead times and provide greater operational flexibility.
“As we continue to grow our global footprint, opening our own manufacturing facility in the United States is a key milestone for our business,” CEO Sascha Detmold Cox said.
“It allows us to better support our customers with locally manufactured products and reinforces our commitment to the U.S. market where we have been supplying customers from our international plants for over 20 years.”

Detpak supplies QSR, foodservice, FMCG and retail brands and has experience working with McDonald’s, KFC, Starbucks and Wendy’s across multiple international markets, including the United States.
The company said the Spartanburg facility reinforces its long-term commitment to the North American market.

Detpak sells its products in 45 countries and owns manufacturing facilities in eight countries.
