Following its acquisition of Oji Fibre Solutions in late 2025, independent Australian manufacturer Abbe has confirmed full integration of the business, positioning itself as a scaled, national alternative in the corrugated packaging market.

Abbe has finalised the integration of Oji Fibre Solutions’ Australian operations into its network, bringing more than 300 staff into the business and consolidating systems, manufacturing capabilities and customer service processes across its national footprint.

The company says the transition has been executed with minimal disruption to customers – a key benchmark for success given the complexity of combining operations at scale.

CEO Anthony O'Sullivan described the milestone as transformative for the business.

“We haven’t just expanded our footprint; we have unified an incredible pool of talent and manufacturing capability, allowing us to offer a genuinely independent, robust, and national alternative for corrugated packaging,” O’Sullivan said.

He added that maintaining service continuity throughout the integration had been a priority.

“The true measure of this integration was how smoothly our dedicated team executed it for our customers. We are now bigger and better equipped than ever, but our core DNA and market focus hasn’t changed. We have the scale to serve any customer, but the agility to cut through red tape and keep our fundamental promise: making packaging easy for our customers.”

A key outcome of the integration is the addition of Abbe’s Yatala manufacturing site, establishing a permanent presence in Queensland and strengthening supply capabilities along the eastern seaboard.

The facility increases the company’s manufacturing capacity and technical capability, while supporting local employment and providing a more responsive service model for Queensland-based customers.

“Queensland is a dynamic and growing market, and our customers there require a packaging partner that offers superior customer service and flexibility,” O’Sullivan said.

“With our Yatala hub now fully integrated into our network, we are delivering exactly that – local expertise backed by national strength.”

In Victoria and New South Wales, the integration has effectively doubled Abbe’s corrugated capacity, improving supply security and enabling shorter lead times and stronger delivery performance.

The company says the expanded footprint enhances its ability to support customers with scalable production, while maintaining the responsiveness typically associated with smaller, independent operators.

Despite the growth, Abbe is emphasising continuity in its operating model – maintaining a focus on sustainable packaging design, innovation, and close customer partnerships.

With the integration complete, Abbe is positioning itself as a national, independent alternative in the corrugated sector, combining increased scale with a customer-centric approach.

The company says the successful integration demonstrates its ability to absorb operational complexity behind the scenes, while maintaining a consistent experience for customers.
