Ball & Doggett is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic National Manager to join its growing Cartonboard Packaging team in Victoria.

Based at the company’s state-of-the-art converting facility in Braeside, Victoria and reporting to the General Manager – Labels & Packaging, the National Manager – Cartonboard Packaging is a critical role in a key sector of our business.

You will influence industry trends and drive meaningful change in packaging solutions.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Strategic development: create and implement a strategic plan to expand sales and gross profit in fibre-based packaging across Australia.
  • Market insight: develop a comprehensive understanding of the market by anticipating client needs and analysing industry trends.
  • Supplier management: build and maintain key supplier relationships, including negotiating commercial trading terms.
  • Key account management: manage key accounts both directly and indirectly to ensure strong business relationships and satisfaction.
  • Financial performance: achieve financial targets for the Cartonboard Packaging division.
  • Sales team leadership: provide strategic direction and support to the national sales team, including key account management and supplier negotiations.
  • Inventory management: manage inventory effectively within prescribed company targets, including managing aged stock.
  • Market expansion: develop strategic plans to increase market share and capitalise on new opportunities.
  • Marketing collaboration: work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute a marketing strategy that enhances market share and profitability.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in sales and supply management in packaging manufacturing.
  • High-level of technical knowledge in packaging manufacturing, especially thermoforming.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the global packaging supply base with established industry relationships.
  • Proven ability to create and implement effective sales strategies, delivering outstanding results.
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in the Folding Box Board (FBB) industry would be advantageous.
