Japanese powder handling specialist Tsukasa Industry is using interpack 2026 to highlight integrated weighing and automated bag opening technologies, as its newly established Australian operation targets growth in food, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors.

Exhibiting in Hall 3, Stand F75, the company is presenting equipment covering the full powder handling chain, including receiving, sifting, milling, crushing, storage, weighing, distribution and dust collection.

Speaking with PKN Packaging News at the show, John Bartlett, managing director of Tsukasa Industry Co Australia, said the Brisbane-based Australian operation had been established approximately six months ago as part of the company’s broader global expansion strategy.

The Australian business joins Tsukasa’s international network alongside operations in Singapore, China, Thailand and Switzerland.

Among the headline technologies on display is the Divider Scale Hybrid Model, an automated powder weighing system that integrates multiple functions within a single compact unit.

The system combines feeding, dust collection, sifting, stock holding, magnetic foreign material removal and weighing functions, reducing the need for multiple standalone machines within powder handling operations.

The demonstration unit at interpack features a 200-litre capacity and has recently completed CE certification calibration.

Tsukasa is also showcasing its ABOS – Automatic Bag Opening System – which automates large-scale powder bag opening operations while eliminating manual handling requirements.

The fully robotic system incorporates additional foreign material removal functionality, including hot magnet technology designed to improve contamination control within sensitive manufacturing environments.

Target sectors for the technology include food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and chemical processing.

Headquartered in Handa, Aichi prefecture, Japan, Tsukasa Industry specialises in powder handling and processing systems designed to improve automation, contamination control and operational efficiency across industrial manufacturing environments.
