TNA Solutions has launched the tna robag Quantum at interpack 2026, introducing a next-generation VFFS platform engineered to boost throughput, reduce line complexity, and help snack manufacturers respond faster to changing production demands.
The latest evolution of TNA's flagship vertical form fill seal platform – the tna robag Quantum – is designed to help snack and food manufacturers increase throughput while simplifying line operations. The launch marks the next chapter in the robag story, a platform that has been central to high-speed snack packaging since it first entered the market more than 40 years ago.
Speaking to PKN at the TNA stand at interpack in Düsseldorf, Simon Hill, group product innovation manager at TNA Solutions, said the development of Quantum was driven by changing pressures on manufacturers, particularly the rise of smaller pack sizes, labour shortages and the need to maximise efficiency without increasing factory complexity.
“Snack manufacturers are under pressure to produce more packs, more variety and more value, without adding complexity to the factory floor,” Hill said. “With the tna robag Quantum, we are helping producers rethink high-capacity packaging by increasing output per tube rather than simply adding more machines.”
According to TNA, the system is capable of speeds of up to 300 bags per minute, depending on product, film and bag format. Rather than expanding production capacity through additional bagmakers, the Quantum platform is engineered to deliver higher output from each tube, enabling manufacturers to reduce the number of machines needed to achieve production targets. The company says this can also reduce associated infeed and outfeed equipment, helping lower maintenance demands, cleaning requirements and overall line complexity.
Hill said the machine had been engineered around four priorities – easier, better, faster and smarter – with a strong focus on usability and operational consistency. Features including simplified machine architecture, integrated training support and on-machine event management are intended to support faster changeovers and improved operator response, while maintaining pack quality at high speed.
The tna robag Quantum is being showcased live throughout interpack 2026 as part of a fully integrated production line demonstration at the TNA stand in Hall 14 (C56/ D56). Hill will also present at the interpack Spotlight Forum on 9 May, discussing how intelligent system design and simplified automation are helping future-proof food manufacturing operations.
