Grunwald is using interpack 2026 to highlight mono-material packaging capability on its high-speed FOODLINER platform, as demand grows for more sustainable cup filling solutions in dairy and convenience food applications.

German filling machine manufacturer Grunwald GmbH is showcasing its FOODLINER cup filling and sealing platform at interpack 2026, with a strong focus on material flexibility and mono-material packaging capability.

Exhibiting in Hall 6, Stand B01, the company is demonstrating the high-speed linear filling system running at outputs of up to 20,000 cups per hour, primarily targeting dairy applications.

Speaking with PKN Packaging News at the show, Christoph Trunzer of Grunwald said the FOODLINER’s key differentiator was its ability to process both traditional aluminium lidding and PP mono-material lids on the same machine platform at high speed.

According to Trunzer, the capability addresses one of the packaging industry’s major current priorities as brand owners and food manufacturers increasingly pursue mono-material packaging formats to improve recyclability outcomes.

“PP mono is a very important topic in the market right now,” Trunzer said, noting that Grunwald believes it is currently the only supplier able to offer this combination of material flexibility and high-speed performance within a single system.

While dairy remains the machine’s core market, Grunwald is also targeting strong growth in dip and salad applications, with Australia identified as an important market for these convenience food categories.

In Australia and New Zealand, Grunwald is represented by Perform Packaging Solutions, which has acted as the company’s regional agent for the past five and a half years.

Jason Valente of Perform Packaging Solutions said the installed base in the ANZ region has continued to grow steadily, with 36 Grunwald machines now operating locally and another machine currently in production.

Valente said recent Australian installations had included two rotary Grunwald systems, while a six-lane linear FOODLINER machine – similar to the system being demonstrated at interpack – is scheduled for installation next year.

Perform Packaging Solutions provides sales, service, support and spare parts for the Grunwald range across Australia and New Zealand.

Based in Wangen im Allgäu, Germany, Grunwald has delivered more than 3000 custom-built filling machines globally across dairy, food and convenience packaging applications.
