interpack China has partnered with the Australasian Institute of Packaging (AIP) ahead of its 2026 exhibition, with the organisations set to collaborate on sustainable packaging and food waste initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region.

The partnership will see AIP participate in interpack China 2026, taking place from 16–18 November at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). Sustainability will again be a key focus of the exhibition, including a dedicated SAVE FOOD and sustainable packaging session at the interpack SPOTLIGHT Forum on 16 November.

The exhibition is expected to feature around 970 exhibitors across 70,000 square metres and attract more than 47,000 professional visitors. Technologies on display will include processing and packaging machinery, automation, intelligent manufacturing, sustainable materials, packaging design and digital solutions, with dedicated areas for smart packaging, sustainable packaging and innovative materials.

Evian Gu, general manager of Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai), said, "We are delighted to strengthen this role through our partnership with the Australasian Institute of Packaging, a longstanding supporter and active advocate of the global SAVE FOOD Initiative. Together, we aim to advance practical solutions to reduce food loss and waste while promoting sustainable packaging across the Asia-Pacific region."

Gu said the partnership forms part of interpack China's strategy to strengthen international collaboration and expand its global industry network.

Nerida Kelton, executive director of the Australasian Institute of Packaging, welcomed the partnership.

"The Australasian Institute of Packaging (AIP) is delighted to welcome interpack China as our newest Corporate Partner. Our long-standing partnership with the SAVE FOOD initiative reflects our shared commitment to reducing food loss and waste through innovation, education and industry collaboration."

Kelton said AIP looked forward to continuing discussions on sustainable packaging at interpack China 2026 and encouraged members and industry colleagues to attend the exhibition as exhibitors or visitors.

The exhibition will feature international companies including INCOE, Langguth, Aasted, SUPER DRY, Earflap, KOCH, KYCZ, Waldner, Hansin, Multivac, Stora Enso, Sykell and Lawer, alongside Chinese manufacturers. An International Pavilion will also provide a dedicated exhibition space for international exhibitors.
