Hannover Fairs Australia, a branch of Deutsche Messe, has teamed up with GSMA to host Industrial Transformation Australia (ITA) 2025. The event is set to take place from 22-24 July 2025 at The Dome in Sydney Olympic Park and will focus on advanced manufacturing.

This collaboration integrates GSMA’s expertise in connectivity technologies, such as 5G, IoT, and edge computing. The organisers highlight that these innovations are key drivers of Industry 4.0 solutions like automation, robotics, and data-driven manufacturing.

Mike Nissen, commercial director at Hannover Fairs Australia, said, "5G is set to revolutionise manufacturing in Australia by enabling real-time automation, predictive maintenance, and seamless connectivity across smart factories. ITA 2025, in partnership with GSMA, will give manufacturers first-hand access to the latest industry 4.0 solutions, showcasing how digitalisation and customisation can drive change and improve outcomes."

Julian Gorman, head of Asia Pacific at GSMA, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership’s goal of uniting the mobile and manufacturing sectors. "Advanced connectivity solutions like 5G, IoT, and edge computing are transforming the industrial landscape, enabling smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable manufacturing. Through the GSMA APAC 5G Industry Community and other initiatives, we are committed to accelerating this digital transformation," he said.

Gorman is now part of the Industrial Transformation Advisory Committee, which will guide the event’s focus on technological advancements in the manufacturing sector. ITA 2025 will be free to attend, with features such as an expo and an Innovation Stage, where experts will share practical insights on digital connectivity in manufacturing.

The Australian Packaging & Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) will be hosting the Processing & Packaging Pavilion at ITA 2025.

Food & Drink Business

Cobram Estate Olives (CBO) has formally claimed a purchase price adjustment of up to US$31.9 million on its California Olive Ranch (COR) acquisition and expects to pay no earn-out on the deal, as the Australian producer works through the completion of its largest ever transaction.

Maggie Beer Holdings (MBH) has pushed back the expected timing of its proposed $10 million sale of Hampers and Gifts Australia (HGA), with completion now targeted for February 2027 rather than a binding agreement signed by the end of this month.

RMIT University and End Food Waste Australia have launched the new Food and Beverage SME Packaging and Machinery Solution Centre, to help Australian food and beverage SMEs navigate the complex transition to more sustainable packaging and processing technologies, while protecting product quality and minimising food waste.
