Foodpro 2026 will place a strong focus on packaging, with the Australasian Institute of Packaging (AIP) joining the event as Association Partner. The partnership will see AIP run mini training courses and forums on topics including packaging design, regulations, sustainability and food waste.

The institute will also showcase finalists and winners of the 2026 Packaging Innovation & Design Awards (PIDA) across the four days.

In a statement, Nerida Kelton FAIP, executive director of the AIP, said foodpro is “an important tradeshow for the food and beverage industries” and that the institute is “very proud to be an Association Partner of the show”. She added that, for the first time, the AIP will host the 2026 PIDA Awards Gala Dinner on 28 July at foodpro. “The PIDA Awards program celebrates Australia and New Zealand’s most innovative packaging solutions and is the exclusive entry point for the WorldStar Packaging Awards,” she said.

According to Kelton, aligning the awards with foodpro will allow the industry to see “which packs took home a PIDA award” through a dedicated showcase on the show floor.

Louise Brooks, commercial product manager of foodpro, said, “We are proud to welcome the AIP as an official Association Partner for foodpro 2026. The addition of the PIDA Awards Gala Dinner to the program is a true milestone for the event and brings the industry together across education, training, innovation and networking.”

Foodpro will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 26–29 July 2026. The PIDA Awards Gala Dinner will be held at The Crown Aviary on 28 July, with tickets available through the AIP in early 2026.

Visitor registration will open soon at www.foodproexpo.com. The PIDA Awards Gala Dinner will be held at The Crown Aviary on 28 July, with tickets available through the AIP in early 2026.
