Viscount has introduced its Nally Folding MegaBin range for reusable bulk packaging across fresh produce, protein, poultry, food manufacturing and raw materials supply chains.

Designed and manufactured in Australia, the system operates within Viscount’s pooling model, where bins are delivered washed and sanitised, then returned after use for cleaning, inspection and redistribution. The company said this removes disposal and repacking associated with single-use cardboard or timber packaging.

The range includes several configurations. The 780L Vented is described as the original bulk bin engineered for durability, hygiene and airflow. The 780L Drop Door features dual drop-down doors for improved ergonomics for manual loading and unloading. The 475L Low Height variant is designed for smaller volumes and harder produce, including stone fruit, pumpkins, potatoes, onions and broccolini.

The design allows loaded bins to be stacked up to six high, with a maximum load capacity of 550kg. Viscount said this increases vertical storage efficiency and reduces forklift movements, handling time and truck loading durations, as well as reducing handling within distribution centres.

The bins are fitted with RFID as standard to support traceability across supply chains. Optional Genius Tag Track & Trace technology provides real-time visibility of assets and operational data, with additional capabilities including alerts for temperature changes and handling incidents.

The Folding MegaBin has a 3:1 collapse ratio, reducing from 780mm to 280mm when folded. Collapsed units can be stacked up to 20 high to reduce reverse logistics volume and transport requirements.

The bins are designed with smooth, non-porous interior surfaces and rounded corners to support hygiene and reduce product damage. Ventilation slots are included to support airflow. They are also compatible with tipping systems, washing facilities, conveyors and beam racking.

Viscount said the reusable system is intended to replace single-use cardboard and timber packaging in circulation.
