Kellogg’s, part of Mars, has reduced paper usage across its LCMs Treatz range by 25 per cent, removing an estimated 31 tonnes of paper from its supply chain compared with 2024 packaging volumes.

The update follows a review of the existing retail packs and shelf-ready display units, where the company identified opportunities to optimise pack size and format. While the product weight and formulation remain unchanged, shoppers will notice a smaller outer carton and a move to a single-facing case format designed to reduce overall material use.

To reinforce that the product quantity has not changed, the new packs carry an on-pack message stating: “Same weight, 25% less packaging compared with previous LCMs Treatz pack.”

The revised packaging is being rolled out nationally, supported by digital, in-store and print communications to highlight the reduction.

Kellogg’s says the change forms part of its broader focus on improving packaging efficiency and reducing waste across both paper and plastic formats, as it continues to work towards more sustainable packaging outcomes.
