The eCommerce market is seeing unprecedented growth, boosted dramatically by the Covid-19 pandemic. Australia Post solutions consultant Brendan Stayte will outline the huge opportunity this presents to Australian businesses at the AUSPACK Leaders’ Forum.

According to Australia Post's eCommerce Industry Report 2022, in 2021 more than 80% of Australian households purchased something online, driving national year-on-year growth to 12.3%. While growth was more subdued in comparison to 2020 (at the height of pandemic lockdowns), AusPost says it was at a level almost double the prepandemic baseline.

Right across the 2021 calendar year Australians turned to online shopping like never before. Australians spent a record $62.3 billion online for the year, with online accounting for 19.3% of total retail spend.

In his keynote presentation at 10am on 19 May, Stayte will address the topic Sustainable eCommerce – what’s your organisation’s share in a $62billion market value opportunity?

Stayte will discuss how the market for eCommerce goods has changed dramatically over the last decade – expounded in the last three years by the Covid-19 pandemic – and is expected to grow to a $61.55 billion dollar market value by 2025.

From operations to packaging, the demand for sustainable solutions across all aspects of the supply chain has grown alongside it.

Stayte will explore what initiatives Australian organisations can harness to grow and scale as part of the new eCommerce economy.

Areas covered will include:
• how to maximise your organisation’s growth opportunity and share of the sustainable eCommerce market, wherever you are in the supply chain
• how packaging impacts the customer experience
• what changes organisation need to make to support the next five years of growth – from warehouses, freight, technology and data to inventory.

AUSPACK 2022 will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, 17-20 May 2022. Tickets to the exhibition are free; early bird tickets to the AUSPACK 2022 Leaders’ Forum (18-19 May) are on sale until 15 April.
