The 4 March deadline for APPMA’s Awards of Excellence is fast approaching, with entries rolling in for the expanded 2022 programme. For machinery OEMs and importers with innovation to shout about, four hotly contested categories are available to enter.

The much-anticipated APPMA Awards of Excellence gala dinner is expected to draw a large audience to celebrate and recognise the industry’s finest achievements across innovation in machinery and packaging design. Special awards this year include Sustainability Excellence, Community Contribution and Emerging Leader.

With the AUSPACK show forming the backdrop for the Awards, interest is always high in the winning machinery innovation. This year the Australian Machinery Manufacturer and the Imported Machinery Award both have categories for small-to medium and large companies, ensuring wider inclusivity across the sector.

What better place to earn recognition for your technology innovation than at the industry’s peak trade show for processing and packaging? Beyond being celebrated on the night, the ensuing brand exposure will build your company’s profile and drive sales – as can be attested by previous award winners.

“Machinery OEMS and importers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to showcase to the wider manufacturing market the technology and expertise they bring to Australian industry,” said APPMA chairman Mark Dingley.

“Never before has it been more important to be growing our sovereign manufacturing capability, and the technology developed by our machinery sector will play a crucial role,” he said. “With the government investing billions to stimulate growth through the Modern Manufacturing Initiative, now is the time for our OEMS and machinery distributors to show the manufacturing sector our capability and expertise.”

As previous victors concur, winning one of these prestigious awards not only positions your company as an industry leader, it gives your teams the recognition they’re due – a highly motivating experience for employees at a time when retaining talent is increasingly important.

The industry’s ‘night of nights’ gala dinner will take place on 18 May, promising a night of celebration and networking with industry leaders, colleagues and sponsors.

Award winners will receive trophies, media coverage and opportunities to promote their excellence.

To recap, the eight categories this year are:

• Australian Machinery Manufacturer Award - Corporate
• Imported Machinery Award
• Imported Machinery Award - Corporate
