Powder handling specialist Floveyor has released its latest development in powder handling solutions, the Tubular Drag Conveyor (TDC) Distribution System. The newest innovation of the Perth-based manufacturing company is engineered for bulk powder handling that requires complex routes and multiple discharge points. The company will exhibit at APPEX on Stand E186.

The company says the TDC is designed for the safe, reliable, and gentle handling of various materials, including powders, granules, seeds, pellets, flakes, grains, beads, mixes, and blends. Like Floveyor's aeromechanical conveyor (AMC), the TDC ensures a high level of cleanliness and safety, using a fully enclosed system.

Floveyor managing director Rhys Walker emphasised that the TDC was a response to market demand. “Our customers have been asking for help with complex routes and multiple planes. While high throughputs is a hallmark of Floveyor machinery, there are times when slowing things down is essential,” Walker said.

“Manufacturers using Floveyor’s TDC Distribution Systems experience low breakage and material wastage, even for fragile materials. Batch and blend integrity for recipes and mixes is maintained and total batch transfers contribute to high yields and lower total cost of ownership.”

Floveyor’s TDC addresses the challenges of complex process line routes while enhancing yield and maintaining product quality. The moulded polymer rope assembly used in the TDC sets it apart from traditional drag conveyors, minimising contamination risks and improving performance.

Key features of Floveyor TDC Distribution Systems:

  • Enclosed system for reduced dust and improved worker safety
  • Compliance with food safe standards
  • Suitable for potentially explosive applications
  • Ease of cleaning for increased availability
  • Energy efficiency for reduced operating costs
  • Flexible layouts suitable for existing and new plant configurations
  • Low noise emissions for quiet operation
  • Lower maintenance costs for reduced operating expenses

Visit Floveyor at Stand E186. APPEX is taking place on 12-15 March at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Free registration is open now.

Food & Drink Business

End Food Waste Australia (EFWA) and Hort Innovation have launched a new research program to tackle the challenges of harvest surplus and losses on-farm – a $2.5 billion opportunity for vegetable growers.

The federal government has confirmed it will not proceed with the Tax Laws Amendment (Incentivising Food Donations to Charitable Organisations) Bill 2024, saying the legislation contains “deficiencies that compromise its policy intent”, even as food insecurity remains at record levels across Australia.

A lot of food and beverage brands look strong when they’re small. They have one product, one pack, one clear idea and then they grow. That’s usually when things start to unravel, not all at once, but quickly enough to matter. The Creative Method founder and creative director, Tony Ibbotson, explains why – and growth is not the problem.
