The Australasian Institute of Packaging (AIP) and Australia's processing and packaging trade show APPEX have established an alliance for the next event scheduled in 2027.

The partnership will see AIP have a presence on the show floor, showcasing its full range of packaging degrees and educational offerings for anyone who wishes to fill their knowledge gaps.

The AIP education team will also be available to discuss the latest in sustainable packaging design, packaging and material trends, and government regulations.

In addition, the AIP will showcase winners from the Australasian Packaging Innovation and Design (PIDA) Awards, the PIDA Student awards, and WorldStar on their stand.

“APPEX is one of the leading processing and packaging trade shows in Australia, and as the peak professional body for packaging education and training in Australia, it only makes sense for the AIP to become an alliance partner with the 2027 edition of the show,” said Nerida Kelton, executive director of the AIP.

APPEX was formed in 2024 on the 35-year foundation of the former AUSPACK event, taking what was previously a packaging-focused event and combining it with the processing industry in what was a 50 per cent larger event. The event is on every three years and unites the best in processing and packaging machinery, as well as materials, packaging and ancillary equipment.

AIP and APPEX will be working on additional collaborative opportunities in the lead up to the show with further announcements to be made in 2026.

APPEX is scheduled to take place from 16-19 March 2027 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
