The Australasian Institute of Packaging (AIP) will provide four free educational programs at ProPak Vietnam 2026, in partnership with Informa Markets.

The programs include the DrinkTech Conference (31 March), the Vietnam Packaging Forum (1 April) and two mini training courses (2 April) with simultaneous translation in Vietnamese and English. Attendees can earn points towards the Certified Packaging Professional designation and receive a Certificate of Attendance.

The AIP will also exhibit at stand BB25 during the three-day tradeshow.

2026 DrinkTech Conference

The DrinkTech Conference, focusing on the beverage sector, will feature 12 speakers across three sessions. Discussions will cover sustainable packaging innovations, recycling, container deposit schemes, labelling, materials, and packaging design trends. Panellists will include Tomra, MCC Label, SIG, UPM Adhesive Materials, Super Aqua, the World Packaging Organisation and the AIP. (click here to register)

2026 Vietnam Packaging Forum 

The second Vietnam Packaging Forum will take place on 1 April, with 17 speakers across five sessions. Topics include packaging design, materials, regulations, digitalisation, sustainable food systems and best practice examples. Confirmed panellists include the National Plastics Action Partnerships Program – United Nations Development Program, Acviss Technologies, AIP, the World Packaging Organisation, Mitsui Chemicals and PEFC. AIP Mini Training Courses

  • Unboxing Accessibility: Easy to Open, Reclose, Grip & Handle Packaging – Led by Nerida Kelton, vice president sustainability & Save Food – WPO, executive director AIP, and Prof Pierre Pienaar, education director‑AIP, immediate past president‑WPO. The course will cover design requirements for accessible packaging, practical tools, case studies and guidelines for inclusive packaging.
  • The Future of Flexible Packaging – Led by Prof Pierre Pienaar, this course will explore the role of flexible packaging in the supply chain, sustainable material options, industry drivers, recycling challenges, and resources for brand owners and suppliers.

All four AIP programs are open to industry participants, who are encouraged to pre-register.

Food & Drink Business

Independent beverage solutions provider, Refresco, has signed a 10-year prelease for the 25,500 square metre ground floor of Gateway Capital’s new multi-level industrial facility in Revesby, Sydney.

Queensland’s container refund scheme operator, Container Exchange (COEX), has announced an extension to payment terms for beverage manufacturers following industry consultation on the scheme’s pricing framework.

George Weston Foods has completed a $130 million redevelopment of its Tip Top Bakeries facility in Canning Vale, Western Australia. The upgrade follows a fire in October last year, which led to a temporary bread shortage across the state.
