Some 150 Australian breweries have entered this year’s awards, which are being run by the team behind the Great Australasian Beer SpecTapular (GABS), with entries touted as Australia’s biggest virtual can art gallery.

Three votes can be cast to select the ten finalists, who then go on to be judged before a panel of industry brand and design experts, and the winner will be announced on 22 October at gabsfestival.com

The winner of the GABS Can Design Awards will take home the Orora Golden Can Trophy, and a free set of printing plates for their next print job with Orora, plus a ton of malt courtesy of Bintani.

All other finalists will receive a product innovation design and manufacture package with Opal Specialty Packaging.

The winner will be added to the GABS Can Design Hall of Fame on its website. Last year’s winner was a ‘60s abstract, psychedelic inspired design Nectaron of the Gods from Stomping Ground Brewing Company.

All voters will be entered into a draw to win a share of the $5,000 prize pool, and 100 lucky voters will take home a $50 voucher from Craft Cartel.

Voting is available through gabsfestival.com.
