Boxer Brands has walked off with four Gold awards at the 2026 Sydney Design Awards for four projects spanning brand creation, identity, illustration and all included packaging across food, dairy and personal care categories.
The winning projects were Lantern Alley for Woolworths Food Company in Identity & Branding, Food; Poise Intimates for Kimberly-Clark in Identity & Branding, Lifestyle; Brownes Yoghurt for Brownes Dairy in Illustration & Type; and Coco & Lucas Gluten Free for Berger Ingredients in Three Dimensional.
Speaking to PKN shortly after the awards were announced, Boxer Brands MD Gwen Blake said, "We’re particularly thrilled to have won across such a diverse mix of work. Four entries and four Golds – it's a pretty good way to start the week!"
Lantern Alley
Created for Woolworths Food Company, Lantern Alley uses an identity system across packaging, menus and environmental applications designed to evoke the experience of exploring Asian street food.
Boxer Brands developed a combination of illustration, typography, colour and graphic elements, moving away from familiar visual cues associated with Asian-inspired food. The system was designed to work across a range of applications while maintaining consistency.
The packaging forms part of a broader brand identity intended to create a sense of discovery, with layered graphics and illustrations used across customer touchpoints.
Poise Intimates
For Kimberly-Clark's Poise Intimates, Boxer Brands developed an ANZ identity and packaging system for the disposable underwear range.
The design moves away from the clinical visual language commonly associated with personal care products, instead drawing on fashion and intimates through soft colours, typography and fabric-inspired textures.
The identity extends across packaging, launch communications and key visuals, while retaining links to the broader Poise brand. The system was developed to balance the established brand's recognition with a distinct expression for the new sub-brand.
Brownes Yoghurt
Boxer Brands' work for Brownes Dairy centred on a new illustration system and refreshed identity for the Western Australian dairy brand.
The illustrations were developed around the brand platform The Ripple Effect, which is based on the idea that good food creates good feelings that spread into everyday life. The system appears across packaging, retail and digital communications.
A new Brownes Butterfly, created from two mirrored 'B's, was also introduced as a brand asset. The illustration system was designed to work across different products and formats while maintaining a consistent visual identity.
Following the redesign, the 90g yoghurt range recorded 11 per cent unit growth in Woolworths, while the 170g range grew 12 per cent in Coles and the 1kg range grew five per cent in Coles, according to figures supplied by Boxer Brands. The figures are measured MAT to 12 April 2026.
Coco & Lucas Gluten Free
For Berger Ingredients, Boxer Brands refreshed the packaging for Coco & Lucas' Kitchen as the gluten-free range expanded.
The redesign simplified the existing packaging by removing decorative graphics and placing greater emphasis on food photography, ingredients and typography. Different colour combinations were assigned to each variant to help distinguish products while maintaining a consistent portfolio.
The range has grown from two SKUs to 11, with assortments stocked across Coles and Woolworths nationally, according to Boxer Brands.
The packaging system was designed to accommodate further products and retailer-specific ranges while keeping the focus on the meals rather than the gluten-free category.
