Dessein led the best of Australia’s design agencies at this year’s international Pentawards in New York, receiving gold for its Claudio Biscotti packaging designs.

The Western Australian agency took top spot in the food category of pastry, biscuits, ice-cream, desserts, and sugar, with its lively, pastel design for the artisan biscuits, as well as bronze for food trends with Purabon’s protein balls packaging.

Aussie winners were also recognised among the beverage categories, with three Sydney-based agencies, Boxer & Co., Denomination, and Squad Ink, all receiving bronze in the ready-to-drink, wine, and limited edition categories, respectively.

However, it was Italian designers Auge Design who won the 2018 Diamond Best in Show award for the limited edition Mutti range of tomato-based ingredients, featuring a gold foil finish across its red and ivory surfaces, resonating throughout the entire product range.
