Melbourne-based boutique flour manufacturer Simply No Knead has brought packaging printing in house after installing the ColourStar AQV digital printing machine from Trimatt Systems to support short to medium print runs for its bags and boxes.
The ColourStar AQV prints directly onto uncoated brown paper bags and boxes across Simply No Knead's range of packaging sizes, allowing the company to produce customised packaging in house. According to the company, this has reduced the need for large packaging inventories and manual sticker application while maintaining the traditional appearance of its packaging.
The system has also enabled Simply No Knead to trial new packaging concepts, including product images and recipes, and provide greater flexibility for seasonal and specialty products such as its Hot Cross Bun mix and naturally gluten free buckwheat flour.
Installed in February 2025, the machine has become part of Simply No Knead's packaging operations, with technical support and service provided by Trimatt Systems.
Simon Bennet, director at Simply No Knead, said, “We are optimistic about the future of Simply No Knead, with plans to continue leveraging the ColourStar AQ to expand their product range and enhance customer experience.”
