Reflex Labels & Packaging has strengthened its premium label production capability with the installation of a high-build digital embellishment system at its new greenfield site in Adelaide, branded as Reflex Labelplus Australia.

Already in production, the facility has been established to service the wine and premium drinks markets, with a focus on high-end label embellishment and tactile print effects designed to deliver shelf impact in competitive categories.

The installation brings together Reflex Label’s ongoing investment in digital print innovation with the local expertise of Jet Technologies, which has supplied and integrated the system, and Xaar, whose inkjet technology underpins the embellishment capability.

Central to the new setup is Xaar’s Versatex Printbar, mounted on the Jet IQ M370, enabling Reflex to produce textured varnishes, high-build effects and vibrant finishes in a single digital pass. The configuration supports complex embellishment work without compromising production efficiency, aligning with growing demand for premium digital labels.

Jet Technologies has worked closely with Reflex Labels & Packaging for more than three years, supporting the group’s digital print strategy with advanced solutions that enhance quality, flexibility and throughput. The Adelaide installation marks the latest phase in that collaboration.

Shane Sullivan, national manager, print division at Jet Technologies, said the project reflects a shared focus on innovation and capability building within the local label industry.

“We’re proud to support Reflex with cutting-edge solutions that enable the production of creative and innovative premium labels,” Sullivan said. “This installation highlights the strength of our partnership with Reflex and our ongoing collaboration with Xaar to deliver world-class capabilities to label printers in our region.”

Designed to jet high-viscosity fluids across a wide range of substrates, the Versatex Printbar supports effects such as spot varnishes, textured finishes, cold foils and high-opacity whites. These features make it particularly well suited to wine and spirits labels, where differentiation through design and tactility is increasingly critical.

Reflex said the Adelaide Labelplus site represents a strategic investment in digital embellishment, with scope to expand into adjacent markets including cosmetics and nutraceuticals.

“Our partnership with Jet Technologies continues to play a vital role in advancing Reflex’s digital print capabilities,” said Jim Chatzopoulos, managing director Asia Pacific at Reflex Labels & Packaging. “As a global group, we are always looking at new and evolving print technologies to support our growth strategy.”

Jet Technologies continues to act as a conduit for bringing global print technologies into the Australian and New Zealand markets, while Xaar sees the installation as another example of digital embellishment gaining traction in premium label applications.

“Versatex is redefining what’s possible in digital label embellishment,” said Graham Tweedale, chief operating officer at Xaar. “Its integration at Reflex’s new Adelaide site demonstrates the value of combining advanced inkjet technology with strong local partnerships.”
