Smart packaging specialist Identiv will present its latest innovations in Digital Product Passport (DPP) technology and supply chain intelligence at the AIPIA & AWA Smart Packaging World Congress 2025, taking place in Amsterdam on 23–24 June.

At the event, Identiv will showcase its NFC- and BLE-enabled packaging solutions, which are designed to support brands in meeting regulatory compliance, advancing sustainability goals, and engaging consumers through product traceability and transparency. These digital solutions form part of the broader shift toward intelligent packaging that facilitates circular economy outcomes.

A key feature of Identiv’s presence at the Congress will be a hands-on “Build Your Own DPP” demo in collaboration with DPP software partner Narravero. This interactive session will walk participants through the process of implementing a Digital Product Passport, reinforcing the practical applications of the technology.

Identiv will also co-host a panel discussion on DPPs alongside representatives from Narravero, STMicroelectronics, AmbAI, NFC Forum, and Tag-N-Trac. The session will explore how smart packaging can enable product-level transparency, cross-departmental collaboration, and end-of-life data sharing.

“Smart packaging and DPPs are rapidly becoming essential tools for enhancing supply chain visibility and operational efficiency,” said Klaus Simonmeyer, Vice President at Identiv. “We’re proud to partner with organisations that share our vision for scalable IoT solutions that advance smart packaging innovation.”

Narravero CEO Thomas Rödding noted that DPPs are set to become the new standard for sustainable products, offering stakeholders centralised access to product data including material composition, repair guidance, and recycling options. “A collaborative ecosystem involving partners like Identiv is essential to making this a reality,” Rödding said.

Identiv’s technology, already deployed in more than 1.5 billion applications globally, gives physical products a digital identity through smart labels and inlays. These enable brands to deliver information on product origin, environmental impact, and reuse or recycling pathways – advancing their commitment to sustainability and transparency.

Eef de Ferrante, managing director of AIPIA, welcomed Identiv’s participation at this year’s congress, saying, “Identiv is at the forefront of innovation in active and intelligent packaging. We look forward to their contributions in shaping the future of Digital Product Passports and supply chain intelligence.”

The AIPIA & AWA Smart Packaging World Congress brings together stakeholders from across the packaging value chain to explore the latest in smart, active, and intelligent packaging.
