Pharma Machinery Australia has partnered with three Australian pharmaceutical clients to implement Enclony's advanced visual inspection systems, which has resulted in significant improvements in final tablet quality.

Enclony offers a wide range of solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The Planet Series includes high-speed vision inspection systems for tablets, capsules, and tablet-capsule hybrids, as well as ultra-high-speed models and vision systems for laser marking verification.

Precision tablet inspection for the Japanese market

The first collaboration involved a leading nutraceutical company aiming to meet the stringent quality standards of the Japanese market.

They faced challenges detecting hard-to-find defects such as edge chipping, colour inconsistencies, and bumps.

By integrating the Enclony PLANET EV-TC, a high-speed tablet and capsule inspection system equipped with 10 2D and two 3D cameras, Pharma Machinery provided comprehensive surface defect detection.

With a capacity of up to 465,500 tablets per hour, the system identified subtle defects, along with catching cracks, print errors, and discolouration, ensuring that only tablets of high quality reached the market.

The collaboration resulted in enhanced product quality, reduced waste, and full compliance with export requirements.

Dual inspection for tablets and capsules

The second client, a leading OTC drugs manufacturer, needed a flexible, all-in-one solution capable of inspecting both tablets and capsules.

Pharma Machinery supplied Enclony PLANET EV-TC, a dual-purpose inspection system featuring 10 2D and two 3D cameras for tablets, and 14 2D plus one infrared camera for capsules.

Its advanced algorithms and triple-checking mechanism delivered precise detection of defects such as double caps, misprints, and fill inconsistencies, ensuring consistent product quality across multiple dosage forms.

The outcome was higher efficiency, reduced waste, and superior quality assurance for every batch.

High-speed inspection for large-scale formulation production

The third client, a high-volume tablet manufacturer specialising in formulation drugs, required both speed and accuracy to meet TGA regulatory requirements, while maintaining consistent product quality.

The Enclony PLANET EV-TC, capable of inspecting up to 465,000 tablets per hour, was found to be the ideal solution.

Equipped with 10 2D and two 3D cameras, the system provided zero blind-spot inspection, detecting defects such as coating issues, shape irregularities, and breakages.

The result was full compliance with TGA standards, uncompromised quality in large-scale production, reduced waste, and reliable delivery of safe, high-quality formulation drugs to market.
