KAIJU! Beer has marked the 10th anniversary of its KAIJU KRUSH! Tropical Pale Ale with an anniversary edition can printed using Helio by Orora.
The project, developed by KAIJU! with Orora’s Decoration Centre of Excellence (DCE) team, is the company’s first digitally printed can.
Orora's Helio is a high-speed digital print solution, offering global leading direct-to-shape decoration for can bodies.
The KAIJU! can features high-build elements on the typography and logo, alongside a matte finish on the clouds and monster peace sign. A subtle texture has also been added to the sand in the illustration.
“The flexibility in the approach to how Orora gets the illustration from file to can is just amazing as well,” said Callum Reeves, co-founder of KAIJU! Beer.
Reeves also said the brewery values working with Orora’s DCE team and being able to see how the can will look before it reaches shelves.
David Muzeen, pre-press supervisor at the Decoration Center of Excellence, said the team had worked with KAIJU! for nearly 10 years.
“When the opportunity came up to run their most popular beer through Helio, we were excited to add some subtle Easter eggs to the current design to hopefully delight their loyal customer base,” Muzeen said.
“Enhancing some key elements with high-build, adding matte varnish to make the clouds seem fluffier, even a subtle texture to the sand in the illustration, all add to KAIJU!’s surreal, joyous art style.”
KAIJU KRUSH! was the first beer KAIJU! produced in cans.
