Sapporo’s limited-edition manga packaging has hit the shelves at all major liquor retailers in Australia, following a successful trial and positive consumer response.

For the first time, and just in time for summer barbecues, beer drinkers can now purchase a six-pack or a carton with the manga-inspired packaging at thousands of bottle shops around the country.

The ‘refined by rebellion’ manga campaign features impactful and bold imagery, which tells the story of Sapporo founder Seibei Nakagawa in a series of authentic Japanese artworks.

Sapporo Premium Beer is distributed by Coopers Brewery in Australia and New Zealand.

Kate Dowd, national marketing manager at Coopers, said more people are drinking Sapporo than ever before, with the beer growing ahead of the Japanese beer category overall.

“Sapporo continues to grow in the Australian market, now cementing its position as one of the top 10 international beer brands sold in Australia,” commented Dowd.

“With strong sales momentum and increasing consumer interest in the brand, now was the time to bring Sapporo’s brand story to life for all drinkers across the country in time for the festive season.

“We’ve trialled the manga cartons and asked beer drinkers what they thought. Their response was clear – Sapporo’s manga design is unique, eye-catching and authentic. In a competitive market, Sapporo is standing out.”

Sapporo’s packaging release coincides with a national outdoor and digital advertising campaign.

Oat Milk Goodness (OMG) Group’s Barista Oat Milk will now be available in over 350 additional Woolworths supermarkets from November, with the brand receiving a notice of distribution increase for its popular oat milk.

The impact of Woolworths reducing Ingham’s supply contract became clear on Friday, when the country’s largest chicken processor presented its FY25 results and reported a 10.2 per cent drop in net profits to $89.8 million. Revenue was $3.1 billion, a drop of 1.5 per cent.

Bega Group reported $3.5 billion in revenue for FY25, with $165 million in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA). But restructuring costs from “transformational business improvement initiatives” impacted the business.
