Amid the COVID-19 Crisis, the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) has been at the forefront of providing up-to-date information to its members and the wider industry.

APPMA members and businesses in the packaging and processing industry have benefitted from access to up-to-date information from APPMA on Australian restrictions, policies and support, be it at a federal, or state and territory level.

All APPMA channels for communication have also been expanded to include information available on the APPMA website.

COVID-19 – federal and state by state information directory
The association has curated an in-depth state by state information guide to assist members and the industry to navigate federal and state government policies, subsidies and restrictions related to COVID-19.

The existence of, and compliance, with state border controls; access to support services; and available state and federal subsidies are some of the key topics covered in the guide.

The document is based on information available from various federal and state government resources as of 1 April 2020. The APPMA will update this guide on a regular basis as more information is made available.

COVID-19 dedicated website page
In addition to the aforementioned document, the APPMA has also set up a COVID-19 page on its website. All updates in regards to the guide and any communications, which it receives from federal and state government bodies, will be uploaded directly to this page.

APPMA general manager Michael Moran says: "We encourage you to add this to your Bookmarks Bar, so as you can easily come back to the page as it suits you – checking in on all of the latest information."

APPMA Webinar Series
The COVID-19 threat has forced the world to re-think how we operate and live. In Australia, maintaining business operations, supporting staff members and restructuring work environments is challenging enough. Remaining up to date with ever-changing federal and state government subsidies, policies and restrictions just adds another level of complexity for employers and employees.

The APPMA and Partner-based webinar series will comprise experienced, specialised and respected presenters providing information, answers and support on a range of topics aimed at assisting businesses and individuals to manage during what we all hope will be a once-in-a-lifetime period.

Upcoming webinars:

1. Wednesday 8 April 2020: Dissecting stimulus packages and subsidies available to employers and employees.

Confused about PM Scott Morrison’s COVID-19 stimulus packages and subsidies? Our free webinar will provide clarity.

Join BDO Australia tax partner Gary Poon this coming Wednesday for a discussion about all things stimulus and subsidies. With BDO Australia being one of Australia’s largest accounting practices this is a not-to-miss presentation for both business operators and staff members.

In the past two-and-a-bit weeks, the Morrison government has announced not one, not two, but three stimulus packages, each bigger and arguably more confusing than the one before. The APPMA webinar will help you navigate what these packages mean for your business.
