The Active & Intelligent Packaging Industry Association (AIPIA) will deliver its premium event for the smart packaging sector – Smart Packaging Solutions for Digitisation, Supply Chain and Sustainability – on 16 November.

The event promises to be a data-mine of information about how digital, connected packaging is disrupting the way brand owners can use their packaging for consumer engagement, traceability, product security, and even sustainable solutions.

According to AIPIA, investment in these technologies are set to accelerate consumer packaged goods producers have to meet the demands of consumers to be more connected with the goods they buy, and want assurances about authenticity and provenance.

Because of this, the Association said brand owners more than ever need more accurate metrics to understand what motivates consumers to keep buying their products. 

Additionally, AIPIA said that supply chains across are under pressure as the pandemic still has a negative effect on the world economy in unforeseen ways. Therefore, better control of the flow and distribution of goods, and fighting against counterfeiting has never been more important.

“We are not offering gimmicks or early bird discounts. What we can promise is the strongest smart packaging solutions agenda on offer at any event in 2021, and we will be ready to bring back a live event in Amsterdam in 2022,” said the Association.
