The finalists for the 2024 (Australasian Bioplastics Association) ABA scholarship program, where one winner will get the opportunity to attain a Diploma in Packaging Technology, and a second winner a Certificate in Packaging, has been announced.

Both degrees are globally recognised as leading packaging qualifications.

The finalists are:

  • Donvé Viljoen, packaging coordinator, Carman's Kitchen
  • Manpreet Kaur Grewal, product technologist, MSAC Solutions
  • Renata Daudt, director, AWEN Packaging Consulting
  • Angela Hanson, packaging technologist, Tip Top
  • Cristiam Camilo Serrano Gonzalez, packaging engineer, Don KRC
  • Ola Wicik, packaging engineer, Opal Fibre ANZ
  • Rhys Blakemore, sustainable materials lead, Officeworks

The winners will receive a scholarship to complete one of the following:

  • Diploma in Packaging Technology – Internationally recognised as the premier qualification in the packaging industry, which prepares students to take responsibility for packaging operations at any level through the supply chain and can also lead to higher level study.
  • Certificate in Packaging – Is the ideal first qualification for those starting out on an exciting career in packaging and is recognised as giving an excellent foundation in, and introduction to, the packaging industry.

The winners will be announced on 16 August during the 2024 Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) Awards, coordinated by the AIP, and which will be held at the Shangri-La, The Rocks, Sydney, New South Wales.
