A family-run meat producer has rolled out new packaging in the retail space with the help of design agency Jam & Co.

The Zammit brand has been family-run since its inception in 1952, had been predominantly a foodservice brand with a small presence in retail.

Recent opportunities gave Zammit the potential to capitalise further on the retail market, with expanded distribution into stores like Harris Farm and IGA.

Jam & Co was tasked with updating the iconic brand to reflect the passion and pride of the meat range.

The design team contemporised the Zammit roundel and tapped into colour cues from the Zammit's family heritage.

The typography was handcrafted and inspired by Mediterranean butcher signage that reflects the passion and quality of the Zammit brand.

The brand then needed to be rolled out onto several packs that would stand out and highlight the Zammit difference.

The food shots used on pack were designed to inspire and create appetite appeal for consumers.

Emotion was created through the use of old photographs of the Zammit family, showcasing the history and nostalgia behind the products in conjunction with warm textures.
